Fading glory

I love seeing the last of these poppies in our garden, they're such a vibrant splash of colour. However, you can see from this blip how they look on closer inspection. Rather than feeling sorry for them, I felt my self kind of relating to this one. Yes he's a bit weather worn and showing the strains of life but he's stubbornly clinging on! I could almost hear him: "Guess what?? I'm bright yellow and I can still make you smile" :-)
