Grenadier

We went to watch the Halloween parade today. This is not a Halloween costume but the uniform worn by the Liberty High School band. I liked the colours and details of the uniform and found some interesting information regarding them on wikipeida.org.

The Liberty High School Grenadier marching uniforms are modeled after the Coldstream Guards, a regiment of the British Army. In their uniforms the buttons are shipped over from England, the belts are old belts of the Coldstream Guard, and their bear skins are also from the army. Today the band has collected over 50 real bear skin hats. The Liberty High School Grenadier Band is the only band in the world that can wear these authentic uniform parts because the band has special permission from the Coldstream Guard to model after them.
