Flax Seed Pods

Phormium tenax, New Zealand flax. Maori name: harakeke.

These pods are from last season. I liked the way they looked in the low morning sunshine.

For the third day in a row we have had a frosty start, sunshine, and an icy easterly. It's known as the lazy wind because it can't be bothered to go round you. It just passes through.
