Airlie Beach...

...is part of the Whitsunday Coast, also a very quant backpackers destination. Hidden behind the hills, Airlie Beach is located on a picturesque peninsula that reaches out into the Whitsunday waters.

I have the luxury of making this beautiful place my weekend escape. After mum moved up there in June, we now make a monthly commute to see each other, whether she comes down or i go up.

Walking along the water to pick the car up from the Sailing club from the night before, i decided to get in a few photos of the Harbour. There are some amazing yachts anchored in the Harbour, owned by some very wealthy residents. Some of these yachts have raced in the Sydney to Hobart or come from around the world.

The best part of spending weekends in Airlie Beach, is that i get real quality time with mum one on one. The saddest part of the weekend is saying goodbye at the airport knowing that she is going back to an empty apartment.

Two months and i'll be back there for christmas... I'm going to die from the heat :|
