Desert Flora - Palms

I liked the way the light hit our small patio-palm this evening. The setting sun really highlighted the small tendrils that extend from every palm frond. Though they are impossible to see on the 50-70 foot palms which are customary in our area of the desert, the five-foot palm my wife planted when we first arrived provided a perfect view of these delicate forms.

I am continually amazed by the flora of the desert. I plan to find, and photograph, samples this coming week in order to showcase a variety of cool desert plants.
