Jo needed a photo for the surgery web site with one of our pets. Milo agreed to model for us. Getting Jo the agree to a posed photo is difficult. Getting Milo to look at the camera is usually even harder. Today it worked perfectly. Blip done.

Australia had a general election today and tomorrow we will have a new Prime Minister. The sitting Prime Minister, John Howard, looks like he will actually lose his seat. A sitting PM hasn't lost his seat in a very long time and I think it sums up the feel of the nation at the moment. It has been and long and boring campaign with both sides paying lip service to the real issues. I dread to think what it all cost the taxpayer. One positive is that there has been a very big swing towards the Green party. They won't be running the country but enough people have voted for them to make the major parties sit up and pay attention. I would say that the Green party is the big winner out of all this. Jo and I agonised over our choice of vote right up until we stepped into the polling booth. The great thing about Australia is that it is compulsary to vote so whatever happens, at least we all know that it is the will of the people.

On a lighter not I finally used my birthday present from my sister, Sue. We went down the coast a way this morning and I did 5 hot laps as a passenger in a desert racing buggy. It was a lot faster than I thought it would be and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. As much as I tried to act casual while we were careering along a dirt track at high speed, I probably failed. The straight lines were fine but the corners made me clench a bit.

Finally I took my bike for a ride today after closing up the extra hole in the airbox. It still ran like crap just with less power so I am no closer to solving the mysterious power loss mystery. I wish someone would just steal it. The insurance would be worth more than I could sell it for. As for selling it, I refuse to palm it off onto some unsuspecting buyer. Either I fix it and sell it or I leave it in the garage to rust.
