Autumn on the Farm
As well as crunchy leaves (see yesterdays blip) autumn is also when things get a bit green and slimy in the West Country.
About 2 years ago I piled some logs under the trees meaning to chop them for firewood when they had dried but I forgot and they are still there. The Chickens like them as they harbour a lot of insects in the summer (or lunch as the chickens think of them) and in the winter they start to sprout lichens and fungi.
I am no good at fungus spotting but this is the one that looks a lot like a tongue and here it looks like its about to lick the lichen underneath.
