Friendly neighbours?

We arrived in Thekaddy (Thek is teak- lots of teak trees in the tropical 'jungle' here) in the hills close to the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. We didn't need to go looking for the wildlife as within 10 minutes of being in our room this monkey was at our window. Luckily the windows had screens and we had been warned to keep our upstairs balcony door closed.

At breakfast the next day the waiter spent most of his time chasing them away with an umbrella but they still succeeded in stealing a banana and half a croissant from one of the open 'window' tables. We sat well away and enjoyed the fun!
