Where the river was

On professional trips to London I often walk by the Thames for a few minutes' peace after the hustle of getting there.

I often do a good deal of people-watching while there; in fact I took several people-shots this morning. But this little cameo caught my eye. I enjoyed the pattern the ebbing tide had made in the silt and extra depth provided by the single leaf and the steps.
