Northern Exposure

Puy lentils. I love the taste of these little beauties. I also love the way they glisten and look like tiny pebbles when they are washed. Soon after I took this they turned into a very tasty mashed potato topped pie.

I'd like to thank everyone for their wonderfully moving and supportive comments on my blip yesterday. As always you hav e proved what a fabulous bunch of people you are.

Even though the poor kid is so upset about his duckling and hasn't been actively blipping for a while, Arrow said to me last night that he thought he had better let everyone on Blip know what had happened. Which I thought was very mature of him. I think however he was quite releaved that I had already done so. He says he will read all of your comments but not just yet.

We had a very sad burial of Nibbler this morning. The boys had decorated a box with lots of drawings of him and messages of how they felt. We buried him near our pond where he learned to swim and we will plant some bulbs on the spot. An old friend of mine, a lay preacher, once told me that he thought burials should only happen on grey, rainy and windswept days as it suited the mood better. Today was such a day, he was right. But then he always was.
