The Holy Martyrs of Russia Chapel and the Our Lady

I often drive past this mural in the Barelas neighborhood of Albuquerque on my way to the National Hispanic Cultural Center or Barelas Coffee Shop. Today after a meeting in the South Valley, I stopped to find out more. I never knew there was a Eastern Orthodox monastery in Albuquerque until now. Our Lady of Kazan monastery has been in Barelas for about 35 years, and was initially established by Father Symeon Carmona. Father Symeon painted these murals.
