at Betsy's

An artist works quietly in the early morning light, remembering the heft of the fat cat and the friendship of the little girl (so many years ago), as she dabs the colours and tunes her pallette.

Her mother is so very ill and yet so very alive and so very beautiful in the bed upstairs.

How can she paint at a time like this? But the light is so fresh, so beautiful, such a glorious time to be alive, and feel, and paint.

The pink cat is a motif, a gift to her mother, something unique and quaint, a symbol of their love.

Together the images tell many stories, of lives, and people, and memories, and times (beyond that which can be easily told).
