Lost in the space between things
There is something about a university campus in the autumn. When I was at university in Durham it was the same; the autumn term (known Michaelmas) was always my favourite. Perhaps it was because it was the time furthest away from exams, or the time closest to Christmas, but really I think it was the colour of the leaves, the low sunshine and the way these both combine with the stonework of old buildings. The University of Aberdeen, being a few centuries older than Durham, does this perfectly. This shot catches the top of King's College seen from beneath one of the trees on the lawn.
