into the clouds

quite a few months ago i posted a photo of a bare blue sky, the day i received my nomination for the peace corps. so today, being the day i have accepted my invitation to the peace corps (that last stage of acceptance) i thought it appropriate to post another photograph of the sky. ill be headed to ecuador in february. for two years of environmental education in the natural resources conservation field. and boy am i excited!

this one was taken while spending an afternoon on the coast, keeping an eye out for grey whales. sadly we sighted no whales, but there were lots of birds and plenty of other things to occupy us. these pelicans were flying overhead just as we headed back inland. to retrieve erin from work and spend a little time tasting wine at the local sonoma county vineyards. a splendid day in the life.
