Curious seats

Interesting sitting opportunities spotted around a park in Lille. There was something a bit curious about the park. It has huge red railings around it and not many entrances/exits. Struck me that if the French had one of their periodic strikes and 'manifestations', it would be an easy place for police to pen the revolting masses in. Not sure that this was its intended usage, but it was hard to escape the impression.

Missed the first session of the conference to have a quick look at Lille. Should be a trip down memory lane for me as I came here many many times as a child. But so far the place hasn't stirred a single submerged memory.
