Last sunny days of the year

Woke up at 6 am today (due to the kids rioting) and took advantage of the early hour for this year's last bike training session. The weather is fabulous today (around 20 degrees Celsius), but extremely windy.

I made it to the Donauinsel though, a 21.1 km long (exactly half-marathon distance!) artificial island in the Danube created in the 70ies and 80ies. This blip shows the Donauplatte area around the United Nations quarter which was supposed to be a more modern counterpart to Vienna's inner city when it was developed in the 90ies, but apart from a derelict amusement mile, some office towers and mass housing the place is dead.
