Yesterday's Blip

Today wasnt going to be much of day originally. We stayed at Grandad and Granny's though so thought we might as well find some nice things to do with people we don't often see. And it turned out a really great day. After a nice couple of hours early on with G & G (and lots of breakfast being scoffed by Katie) we went to meet a friend from postnatal with her little boy. Both babies needed fit checks on their shoes - and to our surprise, we were neither of us told to buy new shoes! We had a coffee in Thorntons, yum yum yum... we bought the babies a gingerbread to share, and the mummies had 2 cupcakes (half a lemon half a strawberry each!) Katie ate nearly all of mine and rejected the gingerbread - DOH!

We then met a friend and his son and went to a big indoor soft play, Katie was so confident, she's not been there since she was about 8 weeks old and was thoroughly traumatised on that occasion! She had so much fun hurling herself into and out of the small ball pool, commando-rolling as she came out!

We had a bit of a wander, and a hot chocolate in one of my favourite coffee shops, it's upstairs in the middle of the town centre so perfect for people watching!

We then went to Messy Church at a community church in town. They have a small soft play, there was loads for the bigger kids to do - air hockey, a wii, tabletennis etc, there were crafts, snacks then a really short 15 minutes kids' praise session, followed by an absolutely cracking 3 course meal. All free, all totally child-orientated, a great time.

Just to add the icing to our cake-of-a-day, it was back to granny and grandad's for a quick play, cuddle and bedtime milk before the drive home. Wonderful end to a wonderful day.
