Black and white for a change

I decided to post a black and white shot of this rock formation, just as an experiment with light and shadows.
I took this in Sibley Regional Volcanic Preserve in Oakland today. A huge cardera blew itself to smithereens here in the distant past... I'd have to look up the date. I think it was about ten million years ago. This park has many rock formations that originated with that big blast.
I will post color shots of this formation another time. Since its middle is bright red, we call it the Rare Roast Beef Formation.
