Coyote bush
Here in the Bay Area, we don't have the spectacular leaf display in autumn that many of you have. Some trees turn colors, but we have other reminders of the seasons, such as an outburst of berries, brightly colored poison oak, and coyote bush seeds. Like dandelions, coyote bush has seeds that catch the wind this time of year, and the coyote bush plants are covered with these fuzzy seeds.
This shot was taken at Sibley Volcanic Regional Preserve.
