a taste for design....
Saturday we went to a retirement party ~ a small banquet, really ~ for a colleague of Ingrid's. Herb had worked at the hospital for 35 years and now his family was celebrating his achievement.
Ingrid says that he was a hard worker, always quick to help, competent, resourceful and cheerful. His family, too, had great remembrances of living and growing up with him. From all they said, he must be an exceptional human being.
He also likes cars, his favorite design being his 1966 Ford Fairlane two door coupe. His wife picked that up as a theme for the party and capped a great meal off with this cake, shaped (as much as possible) on the lines of Herb's favorite automobile. It was lots of fun ~ and just about the best tasting "banquet cake" I can remember.
So I guess the proverb's true that, "Beauty is in the tooth err, in the eye of the beholder!..."
Cheers
