Winging it
I've been given the task of photographing some bird bits. Someone has a collection of wings taken from dead birds (they weren't killed for this purpose!) - they're really useful for trainee bird ringers to practice working out what age and sex a bird is. Though it would be much easier if the rest of the bird was still attached...
This beautiful wing belonged to a Woodcock, a strange wading bird that lives in woodland. It has amazing cryptic camouflage.
