Roasting Chestnuts...

.... all calm now unlike this morning.
Alarm did not go off again (7.30 am) get up girls go Go GO! no No NO it's snowing, snow gear on! Maddy - please please wear socks.

It's seems like winter is approaching too fast, all the leaves are disappearing, where have all the beautiful colors gone.

Returned to the battle of the socks with Maddy at Ice skating tonight. Please wear the thicker socks Maddy. Breathe. Too thick Mummy. And too Scratchy. Off. 5 minutes of arranging socks and jeans so all are perfecty flat and straight. Breathe. Gloves on. Underneath my jacket please mummy. Breathe. Again all perfectly flat and straight. Meanwhile everyone else has been on the ice for 15 minutes. Maddy goes off smiling and mummy collapses under the weight of patience.

But now it is all calm, the girls sleeping the fire is lit and I am quietly roasting chestnuts. Gone are the days when I watched the fire dvd playing dreaming about a real one. How different from this blip. Fire DVD available for a good home.
