Long goodbye

The back deck at Everton Park. It's not my family home but it's the next closest thing. I lived here for nearly a year in 1998 and always visit every time I'm back in Brisbane. I'm good friends with four of the five brothers who grew up in this house, and they were all back with their wives and families for a family get-together. They've been having many of those lately as their mother, who is also a very close friend, is not expected to see Christmas. None of the photos of the get-together seemed to do it justice so this was me sitting up late and shedding a quiet tear.
