It's Back!

This little speedboat has been sitting in the bay for the last 6 months or so. It is owned by a young lad in the village, but he is hardly ever out to it and has been for sale most of the time! It filled up water regularly and was usually listing over at an alarming angle. The wind took it backwards and forwards along the shore as it only had a few links of chain as a mooring, and it couldn't hold it .
In the gales yesterday it vanished and we thought we had seen the last of it! We weren't that upset as it was an ugly wee boat and also more than a bit of a hazard. This morning the two Magnuses, Magnus S and Magnus W, who were out diving, saw it over on another island, checked it out to make sure there was no one on board, and towed it back to the bay. Poor Magnus S had had to bale it out all the way, as she had holed herself on the rocks. She is now up on the slip, out of harms way, and hopefully the owner will come and take her away. Soon!
The gales yesterday were incredible, the noise was incredible too - I couldn't believe it was just the wind and the waves, it could have been a cement mixer! Today it was completely different, like the day before it was calm and at times, sunny! Filled it with more fun things, baked my Christmas cake, gave Ollie a really thorough grooming, started knitting a pair of lacy socks and tonight we went to hear a visiting Russian choir. They were terrific and we had a wonderful evening, made even better by us winning a bottle of wine in the raffle!
