"You want a size 4, in those?!"

Regular viewers may have noticed that I am partial to a nice bit of footwear. I'm also a woman of contradictions in many of my tastes and this extends to footwear.

I love the gorgeous, glamorous feeling of wearing shoes like my wonderful Kurt Geiger heels but I do also love more "rugged" footwear. Such as DM boots.

It's my birthday next week and have been indulging in retail therapy to distract myself from my usual pre-birthday blues. I thought it was probably wise not to blip the weekend's bit of retail therapy which are small and made of plum-coloured silk, so here are the lovely, new DM boots that I bought yesterday instead.

They're a sod to photograph, certainly in electric light so you will need to use your imagination a bit as they are a lovely metallic purple colour :-)

The young girl in the shop looked quite surprised when I asked to try them on in a size 4, but then recovered her composure enough to say "ooh, they match your coat." Yes, I'm a woman in my 30s, buying purple, 8-holed DM boots - get over it!

I love them. As I type this, I'm aware of a dull pain from my left heel, but I love them and know that the pain will be worth it! Although it's interesting that the much less comfy-looking KG heels didn't rub.....
