I went to bed last night basking in the glory of the success of yesterday - namely that I was able to go to the gym for the first time since February, and put in a quality day's work and publish a picture I was happy with and go round and do a bit of commenting, and get home in time to watch "Spooks" and (in the two minutes that I watched the footy) see Ronaldo's goal. And be in bed by 10:30.
The success for me was that for the first time since starting blip, I achieved the sort of life-balance that I have always strived for.
Today has so far not been as good. I started off by getting up late - probably something to do with going to bed early. I had heard that that the ability to get out of bed in the morning is actually hormone-driven, and that some people don't have it. I think that's me and probably students. The whole hormone concept is alien to me as I always thought that the thing that got you out of bed was a reason; and that is something that I also seem to lack..
However, the hormone thing must be true because I heard it on Radio 4.
I eventually got into work, and the day started with my staff swinging into the normal routine of telling me what day of the week it is and how many days there are left until the weekend. They then give me their opinion of my latest blip, and then we piled into the workload....
I've developed the habit now of carrying my lumix in my pocket instead of in a bag that sits in the other bag with the other cameras which sits in the car. That way, I can take a picture on my cigarrette break.
I have no idea why I've taken this one, if you asked me what it's saying, I would have to reply "nothing - the words underneath do that"
