Old Skool...
Is there a difference between Old School and Old Skool?
Thinking back I had a belter of an assignment opportunity last night when Joni was just needed a couple of gold chains and some lino to be half of RunDMC.
My first real job after college was working in a hotel up near Loch Lomond. On my days off I would get the CityLink bus down into Glasgow and invariably add to this collection of tape albums. This was one section of my music listening where the other at the time was my copies. They've since been thrown out and replaced going into the digital CD revolution.
My habit of keeping receipts in the sleeves started with these tapes and it was quite funny looking at where and when I bought them. Frighteningly some go back only 10 years or so but music media has sprung ridiculously forward since MP3 has become mainstream and (I think I went through this on some previous blip) I could probably put the best portion of this box onto the memory card in my phone which is less than the size of a stamp.
Some of these have been replaced by Compact Discs but I guess I will probably hold onto these as a wee glimpse into the past.
Now that I've got it down, I'm getting a hankering for some of these that I've not heard in donkeys.
