McKeown's

I left my Blip a little late today, despite being off work at the moment - lesson learned!

This is McKeown's. The fishmonger has been trading in this site since the building was erected in 1890 and has been owned and operated by the McKeown family throughout that time. Back in 1890, High St was known as Ballymagee St, but the Bangor council felt that Bangor could support two "business" streets - something that they've struggled with ever since. The Central Fish Hall sign is original - I saw it in a photo from around 1900 this afternoon.

I'll hopefully have something a little more exciting/interesting tomorrow!
