Hairy Curtain Crust (Stereum hirsutum)

Perhaps the commonest fungus in the UK. You will find it in virtually every wood where it grows on the ends of sawn and fallen trees, dead branches etc.
It gets its name from the very fine hair-like surface of the fungus.
NOT EDIBLE.
