Dawn breaks over Australia

The Singapore Airlines A380 from Changi airport took off with barely a whisper and we hardly knew we'd left the ground. We had a very smooth overnight flight into Sydney with quite a bit of space in the rear section where we were seated - so a little more room to spread out overnight. I can understand why the airlines report that people like these aircraft. Ours still had the smell of new upholstery and plastic. We flew back to Singapore on one two years ago when It must have been one of the first in service.

It was good to see J there to meet us at the airport. Although we were alert enough to make or own arrangements to complete the journey (there is a very good train service into Sydney and then on up the coast) it's always lovely to be met and not to have to struggle with all the luggage.

We were back in time to go to the `touch footie' which both children play - so they were really pleased too. More photos on Flickr for family and friends to view >>> photos
