It's a sign

Literally. I've no idea where it's original placement was, probably some old house in central Reykjavík. They've long stopped using these kind of street and house markings, so now they're more like collectors items or decorations. Took this in a bar in downtown Reykjavík, there's several more of thses all around the place.
