Darkness at the Lake

My mum always gets great lake shots. However, it seems whenever I visit and go down the lake, it's always dark and dreary like the last time I was there. The lake is a lot higher at this time of year and a lot of the usual laybys with nice beach areas weren't worth stoping at as the beaches were underwater.

I couldn't get out when the light was better as my glasses had been misplaced. Four of us searched the house, every place I might have put them, even those I wouldn't. I was asked all sorts of stupid questions like had I put them on the back of the sofa, or under my pillow but the answer was always no. In the end, they showed up in the bottom of my mum's laptop bag!
