Fire & Goodbye

The last fire here at our home in NC. We will be moving on come thursday. It was bittersweet, friends we will not see again for a long time, remembering the many many fires we had in this fire pit. I burned nearly every last piece of fire wood i had, no reason to keep any of it. We had fire, friends, food and wine. A perfect ending to our stay here in NC. We are northbound now, where fires will be more appreciated, smell different from the different local wood and will never feel quite the same as the did here. We took 199 pics tonight, nearly 150 of the fire, and this is the one that made it in, it was a tough choice, i thought of putting in the last shot I took, of coals, at the end of the fires life, thinking it appropriate, being the end of our stay here. Instead I chose one from the beginning, for this is not the end, but the beginning of a new adventure in many ways for Wandering Gypsie and I.
