The Pomegranate - 'Jewel of Winter'

In the ancient world, the succulent pomegranate was a highly-prized fruit. Over many centuries, artists, poets and authors have celebrated the pomegranate's attributes: it has been linked with romance, longevity, fertility and sex appeal.

So with the latter firmly in mind, off I set to mooch around the local shops where I live to procure said Item ... I love the diversity and culture that surrounds me here in Ealing ... From Persian, Iranian, Arabic and Armenian, there are delights to be found on every street! In fact it seems a little weird when I turn the corner and find a Tesco or Sainsbury's .... All the flavours of the middle east are here on my doorstep and I would be a fool not to explore all the tastes and smells.

This was taken at my local fresh fruit and veg Market about 100 yards from my home!
