The fool on the hill

Would you consider Tony a nutter?

Some would say that you could very well leave out the religious slant and still have a valid question.
Being as I'm not at all religious I do find myself blipping a lot of religious-related images. I find the subject quite interesting but only from a non-academically viewed cultural and sociological point of view.
In fact I wish I could believe in it, but like that cantankerous old sod on radio 4, I can't see anything there to grasp onto apart from old stories that in their day were intended to explain the world and to control and give moral guidance to society.
More relevant maybe; religious people don't seem to have any better a life than I do - not happier, not richer, not more carefree, not more secure. They don't tend to be noticeable by their extra life-quality in any way. In fact I know some people for whom I consider religion has been a bit of a millstone around the neck.
But thank God for all the beautiful buildings erected in his name!
Oo I have gone on a bit. Here endeth the first sermon.
