Don't forget to look above you

I saw Hitchcock's 'The Birds' recently. What a great film. The leaves of this tree in silhouette against the winter sunset reminded me of the slow sinister massing of birds in Hitchcock's masterpiece.

Makes me shudder thinking about it.

But there's a reassuring human presence in this picture, the mighty crane, the domestic chimney. Man triumphs in the end, or does he?
