The Sparrow Tree

Sparrow numbers are supposed to be declining according the what we are told but there is no sign of that this year in my garden. There are dozens of them chirping away today in the nettles and as soon as I fill the seed feeder they mob it and can empty it in a few hours.

It works well all round though as they drop half of the seed on the floor and the chickens stand underneath and hoover this up.

Our cats also have fun sitting under the tree drooling at the birds but never seem to have much success at catching them.

For some reasons the cats and chickens mostly just ignore each other.
