Miyajima

The most beautiful and serene place on earth, this is also one of the most photographed places in all of Japan, so as a blipper it was only right that doogie and I visited. We viewed this shrine when the tide was in, and then we came back when the tide went out again.

In the mean time we climbed a mountain to see some monkeys that never materialised and a shrine with a flame which has burned for 1200 years, lets say there were definitely white embers, and smoke, but I did not see much flame ???

This 1200 yr old flame was then taken to light the eternal flame at the peace memorial park.
