Not on Vacation

I'm not on vacation....but they seem to be.

It was my lunch hour, but those who hung around on the dock appeared to be habitually relaxed while they messed with their gear.

Gearing up for the holidays around here is such an odd mix. It felt like summer on the docks today, but there was some tinsley things wrapped around light posts down town. I started going down my usual road of how impossible it would be keep up with the demands of the holidays, but there was a shift in me as I looked deeper inside for a fresh look. A shift toward forgetting the past and pressing on to the future. Each day will be a new day and I will do the best I can in it. I will not believe that I will fall further and further behind in my work and my budget. Today is like any other day on the docks, and so shall it be in my heart. I will encourage those I can encourage. I will thank God for new mercies each and every day. I will live, love and laugh. January is just around the corner...I will survive. I will, I will!

I went back to my office and reorganized my work space and prepared for a phenomenal holiday season! Amen.
