Will the circle be unbroken?
It's that time of year in North Carolina my friends. I woke up this morning a bit groggy and still tired, but told myself to go walk in the woods. I grabbed my dog Henry, and we loaded into my 91 4Runner (258,738 miles on it mind you). As we are driving up the hill to the trail head 5 miles from my house I realized that my car maxes out at 20...oh well...it's a tank and can handle it. Henry (the dog, my Mom named him after Henry David Thoreau) We were walking through the woods and I just really started to notice the leaves, a mixture of Red and White Oak, an assortment of Maple, and Sassafras lying on the trail like a natural carpet. I picked up this leaf and was fascinated following all the lines and nerves throughout the leaf. We step and crush, jump in piles, use as a fire starter in dire situations, but in person, it is very rare we find these things and enjoy the true beauty of a leaf. So much is involved and yet they are so small and insignificant, even an annoyance sometimes...
Just like Zombieland rule #32...enjoy the little things
