Unexpected Find
This is what greeted me at the top of the stairs when I got to my office this morning.
It was quite cold so it must have looked for a refuge in the relative warmth of the staircase. I only got one blip, as soon as I had blipped it, the wings went up and they wouldn't unfold again. A little later it had disappeared, where to I don't know.
It reminded me of the story that I read as a child, Philippe Fix's Serafin und die Wundermaschine where Serafin loses his job as a ticket controller on the metro because he starts to chase after a butterfly that had got lost in the underground. He goes on to inherit a big house and makes it into the most amazing place where fairytale characters come alive at night and it's drawn in the most detailed pictures that I can still remember today.
Luckily I did not lose my job chasing butterflies but continued with the tasks slowly but surely.
It's never easy to take on a new job especially one like this one where it's basically a new position and I have to find my way and the priorities of the moment. But we're moving ahead which is great.
