The last ladybird?

I went outside this morning to put some bits in the compost bin, and there was this ladybird, sitting all alone on an old knapweed head, beaded with drops of moisture. For once my blip was sorted early in the day!

And it was just as well, because completing my report took up the rest of the morning, and then I had to go and stock up the very bare cupboards. By the time we took the dogs out just after three, it was definitely heading towards dusk, with a grey sky and fine mizzle. No chance of a beautiful sunset - again!
