The Griffin

A really tired looking old boozer, just north of the City of London. Holes in the floor, bit of an odd smell near the back. The service can be a bit dodgy here too (although not today, luckily) - bar staff putting mobile phone calls before actually serving beer is not unknown.

But the place has a real atmosphere (perhaps it's just the smell, but I don't think so!), so I always end up coming back. I met up with an ex-colleague there at lunchtime today, for a beer or three.
