Liverpool's Long Night kicked off with a whimper. A group of musicians appeared in the foyer of the Phil and just wandered around playing. The more the regular audience was bemused, the more this travelling band seemed to relish their role. A whistle blew and they were off. Towards FACT and the Bluecoat. They gathered more people along the way. As well as lots of abuse from passing Scallies.

It was surreal and wonderful to watch. They didn't care about the world around them. They just played on. And into the night. Brilliant.
