Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

Birthday Rolls On

Last night late I opened my birthday cards -- I always save them for last. The personal touch is always, well, very personal.

I thought that today I'd photograph one of them because so many of them were very special, especially one from a former student, Sarah, who had left the envelope in my campus mailbox. But then I arrived home this afternoon to a quiet house (Mr. Fun was not here yet -- there's no quiet when he's here). So I hit the "on" switch on the computer.

I checked my email and oh my gosh, this amazing card from Tookie came parading across my screen. It's a spectacular cyber-card with music and movement and beautiful colors. I sat here and giggled and sighed, and thought about all the wonderful friends who I have come to know and love because we all blip together and share our lives through this crazy medium. I love this! Thank YOU Tookie! and Thank YOU everyone who left lovely birthday wishes. Catherine and I share the same birth day and Dorrit and I were born in the same hospital. The connections in Blipfoto are truly interesting. I love this community.

I love when a birthday just keeps rolling on. More cards arrived in the mailbox today and even though I did not get "high" yesterday -- yesterday was a high!

After the fun of yesterday with my favorite person, the last thing I wanted to do today was say goodbye to him and head to the campus, but I did!

I must have had left over energy because when I got to the classroom at 10:15 I was just bubbling over. It helps that my Thursday class usually is "on" and moving with me, but I had considerably more exuberance than usual and when I really realized it, I stopped, got quiet, and then said to all of them, "I bet you wonder what I had for breakfast." They all busted out laughing. So I think I down-shifted at that moment, put on some reserve, and managed to land the class right at quitting time. I enjoyed myself. I think they did too.

Mr. Fun is waiting for me now. So, I'm outta here for a bit. I'll check back in later.

Good night from Southern California.
