Stand off

I've counted three grey squirrels coming to the bird feeders in the back garden which could be two adults and one young.

I'm not sure which one this is but I crept up on him while he was stuffing his face with sunflower seeds. The escape route is a few paces along the top of the wooden fence then a leap into the small leaved lime tree.

Rather than scooting all the way back into the drey which is inside the thick ivy, he stopped and gave me the stare.
