Furry garden triffid
There's a flower in my garden which I adore. It's proper name is a pulsatilla but that probably doesn't mean too much to too many people though I may be wrong.
Anyway - it has some beautiful characteristics and always seems to be doing something different.
In early spring the greenery begins to emerge from the damp greyness of the winter soil. Flower buds appear giving hope to the new season then, when the flowers do appear in full bloom, they're the kind of flowers I just wnt to sit and stroke! Weird huh?! It's just that they're so soft and furry and they hold the dew wonderfully.
After they're bloomed the flower heads grow into strange orbs of tentacled fur and then - now - into seed heads like feathered dandelions. For the rest of the season they'll just look like a clump of greenery but for the time they go through their annual bloom cycle they really are utterly fascinating flowers.
Have a great weekend everyone :)
