Making things happen

I was named after Jane Austen's Emma. For those who don't know the story she helped others find love but was alone throughout the novel until she found her Mr Right at the very end.

Well, I've been on my own for most of my 30 years. I've had the odd romance here and there but my status seems to be pretty much permanently set to single.

That doesn't stop me being an eternal optimist and romantic though and today despite a recent string of dating disasters I arranged myself a blind date for Sunday.

With a lot of cheek and a dash of charm I sidestepped the puppet master who wanted to introduce us when he felt like it and am now actually quite excited about meeting this interesting stranger for a chilled drink.

Sometimes I think there's a lot to be said for that excited thrill of not quite knowing who or what is around the next corner because, who knows? It could be brilliant and time for a lot of fun!!!
