Loy Krathong

Today is the beginning of a two day celebration of Loy Krathong. It is celebrated on the full moon in the 12th Thai lunar month (which is usually November.) From what I understand, people go to the nearest body of water, a river, lake, ocean and send out a flower/leaf decorated floating object after dark. The idea is that your bad karma/sins of the past year are sent out and washed away as well. My dorm friends and I enjoyed going the small lake at the university to look around. The university was decorated beautifully, this was just one part of the decorations in the middle of the lake.
