The last days......

I'm still in Moscow and was taken to this gallery full of monumental statues - monumental is the only word to describe much of Moscow. I am standing inside a huge apple on the inside of which is carved scenes of the fall and redemption of man, but as I looked out I saw these figures looking in. Except they have their eyes shut. I went to investigate and it is a sculpting of the Tsar's family seated as they were when they were executed, with their eyes shut, and with bullet holes behind. Despite being very literal it was a very moving piece. The characters are probably ten feet high at least.
